IT Application Support Business Analyst II
Position Summary:

Looking for technical skills: SQL & some programming in JAVA or .NET. Not a programmer, but should be able to read and basically understand the code.

Target annual salary $70K

Must have:
SQL (be able to querry)
Java/ .NET (Java preferred)
Degree (with IT of similar field) not in Business

The IT Application Support Analyst is responsible for providing system support services to business users.  Services provided include supporting applications for order entry and processing, field service, and other business areas.  The analyst is responsible for maintaining and monitoring the environment to maximize availability and performance, provide troubleshooting and corrective action to resolve business issues, and insures the usability and support for application enhancements and bug fixes.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Work directly with users to identify and resolve system issues adversely impacting business processes.  The analyst will:
  2. Work with software vendors and Application Development to identify and resolve system issues affecting business processes.
  3. Creates the IT Customer Support plan for new functionality impacting assigned applications.  Provides proactive input on support plans for applications that affect any business processes related to the application.
  4. Tracks patch and configuration solutions from analysis to production release.  The analyst insures the solution meets all requirements, is fully tested, and complies with all IT policies and procedures.  The analyst also communicates the status of the system impact and solution to key stakeholders.
  5. Fully understands and agrees that system changes meet or exceed all requirements, are fully tested and fully supportable prior to production release.
  6. Monitors all systems affecting critical business processes to proactively minimize service interruptions.
  7. Tracks and reports all current and potential risks to maintaining business services.
  8. Identifies and champions business and technical opportunities for improved services.
  9. Insures all support activities throughout the IT Customer Support organization are maintained to the highest standards.  Tracks and reports on all activates related to the business services provided.
  10. Adheres to and champions the IT Governance programs (e.g. change management, communication, and release management)
  11. Resolves issues and inquiries related to the operation of the systems, in a timely manner, with a high degree of accuracy.  Identifies and follows up with corrective action plans that may touch multiple business units concurrently.
  12. Develops customer relationships by making efforts to listen and understand the customer; anticipating and providing solutions to customer needs; giving high priority to customer satisfaction




Position Qualification Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Systems or related field
  • At least 3 years of IT Application experience
  • At least 2 years experience supporting business applications


Other Position Qualifications:

In addition to the basic qualifications listed above, the following other position qualifications are required:

  • Experience delivering solutions that align with business strategies
  • Experience troubleshooting complicated issues across multiple systems and driving to solutions
  • Experience supporting resources performing user acceptance, regression and other required system tests, ensuring that system and/or related integration issues that arise are identified, researched and closed in a timely manner
  • Experience providing technical solutions to non-technical individuals
  • Demonstrated team building skills
  • Demonstrated communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to deal with internal employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in business relationships
