One person was hospitalized and others were assessed for smoke inhalation as firefighters knocked down a house fire in Irvine Saturday morning, Oct. 20, authorities said.

After putting out the blaze, firefighters found a pot-bellied pig on the first floor of the residence. The animal was unharmed, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Daryll Milliot,

About 9:30 a.m., Orange County Fire Authority firefighters were dispatched to the 4000 block of Rafael Street on a report of a two-story house fire with a trapped victim, Milliot said.
