Kidnapping suspects led authorities on a chase from Los Angeles to Orange counties that ended early Friday on a freeway in Irvine. No injuries were reported.

The suspects, in a red Toyota Venza, fled at high speeds from authorities after Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies got a call of a woman reportedly being kidnapped just before 11 p.m. Thursday in Palmdale, authorities said.

The car traveled onto the freeway, where the California Highway Patrol took over the pursuit. At about 12:30 a.m. Friday, CHP officers in Orange County became involved on the southbound 405 freeway and Fairview Road, said Sgt. Mike Stoney.

Stoney said the vehicle “voluntarily stopped” after about five minutes into an area closed off by Caltrans. The male driver got out of the vehicle and was taken into custody. Shortly after, a female exited the car and walked toward the officers.

A male in the passenger’s side remained in the car and was pulled out by officers who were later seen placing the man in a wheelchair that was in the vehicle.

No injuries were reported.
