International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, an established international journal, published a paper showing cannabinoids, compounds found in the cannabis plant, can neutralize the main protease of SARS-CoV-2 virus to block its replication process, and effectively stopping cytokine storm.
Using molecular dynamic simulation and density functional theory scientists compared cannabinoids with COVID19 antiviral drugs Chloroquine, Remdesvir, Lopinavir, and found cannabinoids, such as THC and CBD, were better in stopping SARS-CoV-2 virus.

A Korean online news media in Hong Kong reported this news and suggested a full legalization of cannabis to allow people access COVID19 cure.
