The political leanings of Asian Americans in the United States are diverse, but research and polls in recent years have shown a tendency to lean more towards the Democratic Party. Of course, Asian Americans come from various backgrounds and hold different opinions, so it is not accurate to generalize that all share the same political views. Additionally, there are a significant number of Asian Americans who support the Republican Party depending on specific issues or regions.

The Asian groups that tend to support the Democratic Party the most include Chinese, Indian, and Korean Americans, while those with higher rates of support for the Republican Party include Japanese and Filipino Americans.

The Chinese and Indian communities, despite their antagonistic relationship with each other, hold a negative view towards American conservatism. Koreans, often characterized by a sense of defeatism and victim mentality, tend to dislike the success of others and oppose for the sake of opposition. This manifests as a vague hostility towards mainstream American society, leading to a dislike of the conservative Republican Party.

On the other hand, Japanese Americans have assimilated well into mainstream American society and take pride in being from a developed country. Filipinos, generally having a gentle disposition and fewer language barriers, tend to assimilate easily with Americans. As a result, there are more supporters of the conservative Republican Party among these groups.

Due to their historical background, most Vietnamese Americans are "boat people" who have a strong aversion to communism, leading to a strong tendency to support the Republican Party.
