The Automobile Club of Southern California is seeking career-minded individuals for our SOC Analyst opportunity in Costa Mesa, CA.
- Participate in security project requirements definition, planning, testing, and solution deployment to support the information security strategy.
- Identify and analyze information security threats and events and respond effectively to security incidents.
- Communicate event or incident information within the information security team using various methods, such as email, phone, face-to-face, and written documentation.
- Monitor external sources of vulnerability information and communicate to affected teams in a timely manner.
- Identify, develop, review, and audit (as appropriate) security controls that align with security leading practices, industry regulations (e.g., PCI) and state, local and federal regulations.
- Recommend new security tools or enhancements and configuration changes to support maturing of processes and changing business needs.
- Proactively alert end-of-life security tool situations to prevent unsupported systems and license expiration.
- Monitor security tools for vendor enhancements and new features communicating recommendations that align with business needs.
- Participate in upgrading security tools and applying vendor patches, as needed.
- Recommend SOC process improvements to enhance risk identification or operating efficiencies.
- Investigate anomalous traffic to identify threats or indicators of compromise.
- Perform investigations in conjunction with Legal or Human Resources, as authorized and appropriate.
- Participate in on-call rotation whereby after-hours and weekend support is required.
- Respond according to SLAs for service desk requests for support and work orders.
Qualifications
- Must possess at least one security-related certificate (e.g., CISSP, Security+, GCED, GMON, GCDA, CISM) or equivalent experience.
- IT audit certification, such as CISA, a plus.
- Four-year degree, preferably in a technical field, required.
- Minimum of 8 years of direct information security administration or analysis experience.
- Minimum of 3 years in a mid-to-senior level information security role hands-on with security technology.
- Prefer minimum of 3 years of security controls development or auditing experience.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with SOC team, IT management as well as Legal, Human Resources, and other areas of the business.
- Must be available to work between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm PT Monday through Friday in the office.
- Must be able to work after-hours including weekends and holidays, as needed and when on-call.
- Hands-on experience with EnCase, ArcSight, Forcepoint Triton, Rapid7 InsightVM, or TripWire a plus.
- Experience in developing security architecture a plus.
- Ability to see the big picture while being able to perform detailed work.
